ABOUT One Taco AV Installation

What began as a food truck serving authentic, traditional Mexican food with high quality ingredients, One Taco is now a well-known restaurant with more than five locations in Austin, Texas. Mood Texas was excited to work with the team at One Taco to give them a better way to serve their customers.

THE Audiovisual Challenge

One Taco was opening a new location in Austin and came to us for a drive thru equipment solution. During the COVID lockdown, the closing of dining rooms and shift to takeout motivated the business owners at One Taco to find a way to continue to provide great food to their guests throughout a global pandemic. We were challenged to provide restaurant menu boards that would be easy to update, with user friendly software.

OUR Audiovisual Solution

Knowing that an efficient drive thru would be the main revenue stream for restaurants with dining rooms closed, Mood designers met with the team at One Taco and proposed an HME EOS Ion Drive Thru system with four wireless headsets and HME on-site maintenance service. After the installation of the drive thru solution, One Taco reached out to us again.

With traditional vinyl light boards used in drive thru restaurant equipment becoming more expensive, fast-shifting menus and changing prices making it difficult to keep up with menu signage during the pandemic, they were seeking a solution that would improve their ordering process. We proposed custom digital menu boards and content management service with two Samsung Outdoor displays in Peerless Outdoor Enclosures mounted for best viewing at the drive thru.We recommended continuing the digital experience inside by creating a modified version of the drive thru menu with an additional screen for showing specials and promotions. To complete the guest experience, a curated music playlist for restaurant guests was implemented by our Mood Mix Pro music service to play throughout the dining room and patio.

Combined, our AV restaurant design achieved an efficient and seamless ordering and guest experience that has allowed the new One Taco location to thrive despite opening in the middle of a pandemic.
