ABOUT EVO SCHERTZ

EVO Entertainment Group is an Austin-based out-of-home entertainment operator comprised of several innovative brands including EVO Entertainment, EVO Cinemas, and EVO Concerts. In less than five years, EVO has grown from just 11 screens in one location to 71 screens, 38 bowling lanes, three full-service restaurants/bars, three live music venues and more than 200 video arcade games across eight locations with more on the way. EVO has built a reputation as one of the fastest-growing cinema-circuits in the nation and has become a true leader in the experiential-entertainment space.

THE CHALLENGE

As the company broke ground on their sixth location in the city of Schertz, TX, project leaders desired to create an immersive experience that engaged visitors with the EVO brand from the moment they step onto the parking lot to the moment they depart, with numerous touchpoints along the way. EVO represents the evolution of entertainment; therefore, the audiovisual experience needed to highlight their innovation and bring the brand to life. This vision required a high level of technical integration, but an incredibly simple control interface—so new employees could control video and sound with minimal training.

THE APPROACH

Mood designers, in partnership with EVO marketing, created a digital signage program with uniquely branded visual content designed for each area of the 73,000 square foot megaplex. In the lobby, a massive LCD video wall with EVO motion graphics welcomed customers. A secondary wrap-around video wall at the bar showed sports and TV content, with occasionally scheduled promotional imagery.

An artistic video wall set the tone as guests entered the promenade, passing numerous digital poster cases before they reach their seats to enjoy a movie. Trendy and modern, yet family-friendly music broadcasted to the arcade, bar, patio and parking lot using premium Klipsch and JBL speakers. The entire AV system, which includes 85 displays and 13 audio zones, is easily controlled using a mobile iPad, or in-wall control screens placed for staff access.

The Results

EVO has set a new standard for night-time entertainment seekers. Guests are dazzled in a high-tech wonderland as they eat, drink, play, and watch, taking in the brand at every turn. Mood and EVO continue to update the presentation with new content and messaging to cater to their growing audience.
